Two Ways to Support Mental Health with The House of Red Velvet

According to the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation , one in five people in the US live with a mental illness. Mental health is very important to us here at The House of Red Velvet. Many of our performances, especially in our Members shows, are centered around experiences rooted in mental health vulnerabilities. Below, I will tell you two ways you can support with The House of Red Velvet.

Shop and We Donate for Mental Health

Our online store has reopened. Five percent of every sale is donated automatically to the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation. BBR Foundation is the top non-governmental funder of mental health research. They fund groundbreaking ideas in neuroscience and psychiatry through research grants. One-hundred percent of donations go directly to the research. They work with world renowned scientists to gain a better understanding of brain and behavior, and find improved ways to treat illnesses. These include schizophrenia, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and more.

Shop with us now and together we can help support this wonderful foundation. We have show prints, photography art prints, and apparel items such as t-shirts, hoodies, and tank tops. Sign up for our Patreon to be the first to know about new store items. (Something new and different is coming soon).

NAMI, the National Alliance of Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organizations. Their mission statement is “NAMI envisions a world where all people affected by mental illness live healthy, fulfilling lives supported by a community that cares.” They do very important work as an outreach resource, promoting stigma free environments, and more.

In the footer on our website, you can donate at anytime in any amount to our ongoing fundraiser. No amount is too small, and you can donate anonymously. Your donation is tax-deductible. All donations go directly to NAMI.

One in five people in the US live with a mental illness. Next time you are in a crowd of people, look around. In today’s technology age, think about all the profiles you see each day and the people behind them. We must remember to practice compassion. You truly never know what someone else is going through whether it be them, or someone they love. Join us in supporting these two great organizations.
